What is the Special Kids Network?

The Special Kids Network was founded in 1999, by Chad Coe. Our mission is to create community awareness and raise funds in support of organizations who believe that every child and young adult, regardless of the nature of their background or disability, should be able to enjoy life to its fullest and to participate in the mainstream of their community.

How are the funds used?

Through the years, funding beneficiaries have included numerous local organizations that help intellectually impaired children and young adults. This year’s major recipient of money will go toward funding the recreational programs of Keshet, which serves children and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

How does the Special Kids Network raise its funds?

Through a variety of events and programs. Our most successful event is our annual golf tournament, which at since 1999 has raised more than $4 million.

Special Kids Network have also hosted an Annual Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament. In its first year, 200+ participants came out in support of this event raising $120,000.

A celebrity bowling tournament is also held to raise funds.

What is special about these events?

First, of course, is that they raise money for worthwhile causes. Second, our events attract well-known local celebrities such as: Denis Savard, Ben Smith, Brandon Pirri, Nick Leddy, Brandon Bollig, Stan Bowman, Sarah Kustok, Jim Hendry, Gar Foreman, Mark Giangreco, Joe Girardi, Neil Funk, Stacy King, Chuck Swirsky, Ryan Baker, Bill Wennington, Chris Williams (Actor & Comedian) and Kathy Hart of The Mix, 101.9FM.
