On behalf of the Board of Directors of Special Kids Network, we want to thank you for your patience during what was our first weather-related interruption of our annual golf and tennis outing in 16 years. The weather created a number of unprecedented challenges and our all-volunteer board did their best to meet the needs of our sponsors and supporters. In some regards, we were unable to meet the high standards we have set ourselves, especially in terms of communication.
Our first priority is to ensure that your perception of SKN is not shaped by a single, unfortunate event caused by the weather. So the SKN Board has held several committee and personal meetings with representatives from Twin Orchard, and has evolved a plan of action with the cooperation of Twin Orchard which we hope will be satisfactory to you — our long time loyal and generous constituents. We have developed three options:
A) We are excited to let you know that we have scheduled Thursday, October 8, 2015 for a day of golf with SKN at Twin. We will Tee-off: Noon (Play your own ball only); Lunch/Brunch: 10:30; Cocktails/light appetizers: 5:00pm. This offer is extended to any individual/corporation who paid for a group or was enrolled through trade. Please note that all responses, if you wish to play, must be received no later than July 31, 2015 by email to email@example.com. There will be no celebrities at this event. ***A separate date is being scheduled for the women’s tennis event that was rained out in the afternoon, and will come under separate cover.
B) As an alternative, those who cannot make October 8, 2015 make-up date will be eligible to receive a tax deductible contribution letter as close to 100% as we can allow. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you wish to receive a this tax deductible letter.
C) Anyone who purchased a golf coupon book which was to be used for activities on the course can either (1) receive a 100% tax deductible contribution letter or (2) request a refund of the coupon book. Please email email@example.com with your choice of donation/tax letter or refund.
D) Anyone that paid for dinner can either (1) receive a 100% tax deductible contribution letter or (2) request a refund of the dinner cost. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your choice of donation/tax letter or refund.
All responses must be in no later than July 31, 2015 for the above listed options (A-D); if no response is received your donations will be processed as 100% tax deductible and you will receive a letter accordingly from the SKN office.
There will be no carry over to the 2016 event so please select from the options listed above.
Again, we are grateful for your continued support and appreciate your kindness, consideration and thoughtfulness over the past 16 years. While Mother Nature got in our way on June 22, 1015, we hope she is much kinder when we see you on October 8, 2015 on a glorious beautiful day.
