Special Kids Network & Banner Day Camp is so excited to be part of a nationwide health initiative to promote sun safety for children. Along with Dr. Amy Brodsky, a local dermatologist and camp mom and several corporate sponsors, Banner will kick off the “cool in the pool” campaign that encourages kids to wear UV protective swim shirts in the pool. These swim shirts not only look cool but they provide sun protection that fights against melanoma and skin cancer; getting kids into good skin care habits from a young age can be life saving. Sun-protective swim shirts are being donated to every camper and staff. On Monday, June 25, Banner Day Camp will have a special event for campers to show off their swim shirts, have fun in the pool and be “cool” – stay tuned for more details to come.
