On Saturday, October 22, 2011, 6:00 PM at Fields BMW in Northfield, Illinois, Special Kids Network hosted a No Limit Hold’em Poker tournament in which over 200 players participated. The event was run by Matt Savage, World Poker Tour’s Executive Tournament Director and also had appearances by Jeremy Roenick (Chicago Blackhawk Legend), Emery Moorehead (Former Chicago Bear) and many amateur and professional poker players.
The main beneficiary for this event is Keshet, an organization that offers educational, vocational and recreational programs for children and young adults with physical and developmental disabilities. Special Recipients for this event was The Chicago Lighthouse for People Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired infant and toddler family program and Rainbows, an organization helping youth successfully navigate the very difficult grieving process.
The success of this event allows us to continue to contribute to the charitable organizations that have come to rely on the Special Kids Network to fund programs and research that help children and young adults in a many ways.
No cash prizes were won at this event.
